Most of my working life has been spent working with computers but I have always had an interest in health and fitness. 12 years ago in Brisbane, Australia I completed a course which qualified me for accreditation with the Australian Association of Massage Therapists.
On returning to the U.K. in 1999 I lived in London and was fortunate enough to live on the route of the London Marathon. Seeing the participants go by was enough to inspire me and although I had not run before I decided to take part in the 2001 event which I duly completed.
I later completed a training course with Premier Training International and qualified as a personal trainer. I am registered with R.E.P.S. (Register of Exercise Professionals) at level 3 which qualifies me to operate as a personal trainer. R.E.P.S. is the organisation which registers qualified people and works to ensure standards within the fitness industry. I am fully insured as required by R.E.P.S.

I believe fervently in the advantages of exercise, diet and lifestyle in maintaining a fit, healthy and active lifestyle for people of all ages. I am particularly interested in the fitness of our young people who in many cases undertake much less exercise than their parents and grandparents did as children and also for those of more mature years who wish to maintain an active and independent lifestyle for as long as possible.
I am also certain that the best means of achieving or maintaining fitness levels is by a program designed specifically with the individual in mind. Each of us has their own strengths and weaknesses and their own individual goals. What is right for someone else may not be right for you. It is easy to be discouraged when thrown into a 'one size fits all' exercise class and many people give up at that point without achieving their potential.
